DMCA and Copyright Policy

Jamal Knyte LLC respects intellectual property rights and expects the same from users of jamalknyte.com. We respond to valid notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. section 512.

If your work appears on our Site without permission

Send a written notice including all of the following, as required by 17 U.S.C. section 512(c)(3): a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on their behalf; identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (a direct URL is best); your contact information including name, address, telephone number, and email address; a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

Incomplete notices may not be actionable, and we may ask for missing information before proceeding.

A note on accuracy: under 17 U.S.C. section 512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. Please be sure before you file.

What we do with a valid notice

We act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material, notify the user who posted it, and provide them a copy of your notice. Users who repeatedly infringe will have their accounts terminated.

Counter-notification

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification including your physical or electronic signature; identification of the material removed and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and telephone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where you live — or, if outside the United States, for any district where we may be found — and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.

Send it to legal@jamalknyte.com. We will forward it to the original complainant. If they do not file a court action seeking to restrain the activity within 10 business days, we may restore the material within 10 to 14 business days of receiving your counter-notification.

Repeat infringer policy

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers. Generally, an account receiving three valid, uncontested DMCA notices will be terminated. We may terminate sooner where the infringement is severe, willful, or commercial in scale.

Our own copyright

All content on the Site — including our products, text, photography, design, code, and branding — is owned by Jamal Knyte LLC or used under license, and protected by US and international copyright law.

Every digital product we sell is individually watermarked and marked with metadata tied to the purchase. If you find our products distributed without authorization, tell us at legal@jamalknyte.com. A link or screenshot helps. We take unauthorized distribution seriously and pursue it — the watermark tells us exactly which purchase a leaked copy came from.
